Alcohol Truth is an innovative new programme for young people exploring their digital lives, social media marketing of alcohol and alcohol harm.
The programme encourages those taking part to critically analyse three key themes;
- The impact of alcohol on their life and the their communities;
- The role and impact of alcohol advertising within social media;
- How and why this medium is being increasing utilised by the alcohol industry.
At the heart of the programme are a set of ‘ugly truths’ about alcohol.
As a response to the ‘ugly truths’, young people have made their own social media messages – some made videos, others made posters.
Some young people recorded their thoughts on the project and shared their learning.
You can use this blog to explore the participant’s learning and share with your networks.
